How to watch one of the best meteor showers 2017 - TDBN 20

Breaking news about Geminids 2017.
How to watch one of the best meteor showers 2017.

Geminid meteor show 2017 will reach its peak Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
What would you have a chance to see? Perhaps you will easily see the debris of an asteroid named 3200 Phaethon fires in the night sky.

The Geminids are a meteor shower caused by the object 3200 Phaethon, which is thought to be a Palladian asteroid with a "rock comet" orbit. This would make the Geminids, together with the Quadrantids, the only major meteor showers not originating from a comet.

3200 Phaeton is a rare asteroid that forms a tail. It has an extremely elliptical orbit like a comet. The Geminid Meteor Shower occurs between December 13–16 each year.

This year's special feature, especially on Wednesday, is good for watching the moon become a thin moon, the wax moon will not rise until 3:30 am and will only reduce the dim light without covering and hide the meteorites.
The Geminid satellite meteor shower is appearing every year in our sky, and all 41 meteors every hour if you are lucky enough to be in the Top End will be brighter than ever.
The Geminids will be the best shower this year. Therefore, tt should be a great show. Do not miss it!

Other information about The Geminid meteor:
The meteors in this shower appear to come from a radiant in the constellation Gemini (hence the shower's name). However, they can appear almost anywhere in the night sky, and often appear yellowish in hue.

Well north of the equator, the radiant rises about sunset, reaching a usable elevation from the local evening hours onwards. In the southern hemisphere, the radiant appears only around local midnight or so. Observers in the northern hemisphere will see higher Geminid rates as the radiant is higher in the sky.

The meteors travel at medium speed in relation to other showers, at about 22 miles per second (35 km/s), making them fairly easy to spot. The Geminids are now considered by many to be the most consistent and active annual shower. Geminids disintegrate while at heights above 24 miles (39 km).

The heat of the sun fractures the rock and creates the trail of debris that the Earth is about to barrel through. For this reason, 3200 Phaethon is sometimes referred to as a “rock comet.”
